Fairshake said Monday, Oct. 5, it will support 32 House candidates—19 Republicans and 13 Democrats—in November’s midterms, including $1 million in spending apiece for six lawmakers, as the crypto industry’s market-structure bill remains stalled in the Senate, according to the Associated Press report.
Which candidates get the $1 million commitments?
Fairshake named Democrats Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Steven Horsford of Nevada and Derek Tran of California, and Republicans French Hill of Arkansas, Bill Huizenga of Michigan and Bryan Steil of Wisconsin. The group’s spending supports campaign activity; the six allocations total $6 million, Roll Call reported.
What connects the 32 lawmakers?
All 32 supported the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, the industry’s market-structure bill. The House passed it in July 2025, but the Senate blocked it last month after lawmakers failed to agree on ethics safeguards and other provisions, Roll Call reported.
The measure would set federal rules for digital-asset markets. Crypto firms have argued that a regulatory framework would support growth in blockchain finance, according to Roll Call.
How much will Fairshake spend across the slate?
Fairshake has not disclosed the amount it plans to spend on the other 26 House candidates, the AP reported. The group also did not say whether it would make further House or Senate investments before November.
Fairshake separately announced plans in September to spend nearly $30 million against Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown in Ohio, who is challenging Republican Sen. Jon Husted. Its next spending decisions ahead of the midterms remain undisclosed.
